Hackers have been ramping up attacks on educational institutions to a stunning extent over the last thirty days as reported by Microsoft. In April, education experienced over 4.2 million malware infections, which makes 64.77% of the 6.5 million attacked devices. Educational institutions were exposed to the largest number of malware attacks since criminals expect school staff or students are not well-trained in cybersecurity.
All this while schools are facing increased cybersecurity and privacy protection issues as they contemplate contact tracing and community transmission in the coming months as noted in my prior note.
Stay healthy. Stay distant.
